It’s Friday, which means the final practice report and official game day statuses are released. Sunday’s game is turning into a real battle of the walking wounded, as both teams are dealing with serious injuries in key areas. After the jump we’ll go over the Colts practice report and give you our final thoughts on who will and will not play on Sunday, as well as give you the latest Broncos news.
COLTS
DID NOT PARTICIPATE
SANDERS, BOB – BICEPS: Sanders remains out while recovering from surgery to repair a torn biceps. OUT
GONZALEZ, ANTHONY – ANKLE: Gonzo has a high ankle sprain, and his recovery was set at 4-6 weeks. Expect him to return after the bye week. OUT
HUMBER, RAMON – HAND: The reserve linebacker had surgery on his hand. He’s expected to miss 6 weeks. Post bye week return. OUT
SESSION, CLINT – HAMSTRING: Papa Smurf missed the entire week of practices and is most likely going to miss his second consecutive game on Sunday. Hopefully Kavell Conner, his backup, can play at the same level he did Sunday night. He’s officially listed as Questionable.
GARÇON, PIERRE – HAMSTRING: Garçon seemed to suffer his hamstring injury during practice on Wednesday, and missed the rest of the week. He’s officially listed as Questionable, but I do not expect him to play on Sunday.
JOHNSON, CHARLIE – FOOT: Charlie Johnson regressed from previous weeks, missing the entire week with his nagging foot injury. He’s officially listed as Questionable, and I think that’s accurate, as I believe there’s a 50/50 chance he plays.
FOSTER, ERIC – KNEE: Foster was a new addition to the report on Friday. Not sure about the nature or severity of the injury. Foster is officially listed as Questionable.
KING, BRANDON – HAMSTRING: A midweek addition to the report, his participation went down as the week moved along. He’s officially listed as Questionable, but I do not expect him to play.
POWERS, JERRAUD – FOOT: This is just a precautionary/rest issue. Powers is listed as Probable and will play on Sunday, barring a major setback.
SATURDAY, JEFF – KNEE: Along the same lines as Powers, Saturday was given a day to rest and get treatment on his knee. He’s officially listed as Probable, and will play on Sunday.
LIMITED PARTICIPATION:
Good news! No one was limited in practice today!
FULL PARTICIPATION:
ADDAI, JOSEPH – KNEE (AND AWESOMENESS): Addai’s trend was what you want to see from someone on the injury report. He started out with little/no work, but steadily increased his practice load as the week went on. He practiced fully on Friday and is officially listed as Questionable, but I fully expect him to play, and play well, on Sunday.
BRACKETT, GARY – BACK: Gary Brackett started showing up on the injury report last week with an injured back. He missed Wednesday’s practice, but practiced fully on both Thursday and Friday. He’s officially listed as Probable, and will play, barring a major setback.
BRONCOS
DID NOT PARTICIPATE:
HARRIS, RYAN – OT: Their starting RT is officially listed as OUT on the injury report. Barring some laying of hands, and changing of the NFL rules, he will not be playing on Sunday.
MORENO, KNOWSHON – RB: Second verse, same as the first. The Broncos’ starting tailback is officially listed as OUT and will miss Sunday’s game.
LIMITED PARTICIPATION IN PRACTICE
BAILEY, CHAMP – FOOT: The Broncos best cover man suffered a heel injury in last week’s win over the Seahawks. He’s been on crutches all week, but was a limited participant in practice on Friday and is officially listed as Questionable. I expect him to give it a go on Sunday.
GOODMAN, ANDRE – THIGH: The Broncos number two corner was also injured in the Seahawks game. He, too, missed all week, but was able to practice in a limited capacity on Friday. He’s officially listed as Questionable, but I expect he, too, will go on Sunday.
KUPER, CHRIS – KNEE: The Broncos offensive lineman was a limited participant all week, and is officially listed as Questionable, but I suspect he’ll play.
WOODYARD, WESLEY – HAMSTRING: The linebacker increased his workload as the week progressed, so I expect him to play on Sunday. He’s officially listed as Questionable.
FULL PARTICIPATION
MARONEY, LAURENCE – THIGH: The running back was recently acquired from the Patriots, and has yet to play in a game for the Broncos. He practiced every day this week, with only Wednesday’s practice being limited. He’s listed as Probable and will see his first game action with the Broncos.
MCBATH, DARCEL – FOREARM: The Broncos’ safety had a full week of practice with, again, his only limited time being on Wednesday. He, too, is listed as Probable and will play on Sunday.
A rather lengthy injury report on both sides, let’s hope we get a good game on Sunday where both teams are able to come out unscathed. And where the Colts win.
