- Last night The Washington Post released a false report that legendary basketball coach John Wooden had passed away at the age of 99. While he is still alive, Wooden remains in grave condition in a Los Angeles hospital.
- The U.S. men’s soccer teamreceived a scare when star striker Jozy Altidore sprained his right ankle on Wednesday. He did not practice Thursday but the team is confident he will be healthy for the June 12th World Cup opener against England. Good thing too, there’s some serious cash on the line if the U.S. can do the near-impossible.
- Word is that the Red Wings have re-signed Tomas Holmstrom to a 2-year deal that works out to be under $2 million per year. Animal Drew from Nightmare on Helm Street thinks that Ken Holland means business this summer.
