Friday Night Slights: CFP Non-Committee, Big 12 Ho Hum, Fans Slights

Sometimes we have to cut loose and let certain people have it and that’s what Friday Night Slights is all about. We will always kick-off each one with our motivator for this trash-talking article Kirk Barton!

Staff Slights

Scott – I’m gonna continue to slam the Big 12. It’s absolutely ridiculous what the brass did with this whole expansion team. The worst part is sending out a script of what to say and what not to say. It’s apparent there are a few people calling the shots for everyone and that’s not right. A majority wanted expansion and a lot of schools wasted a lot of time and resources thinking they had a chance. Wait until the playoffs. Karma can be a you know what.

Mike Meals – I’ve still got to say the CFP committee. They have aTm in over UW. That makes zero sense. UW is still undefeated. I have no issue with the Buckeyes being outside looking in right now. We can tell the committee really likes OSU, and the path is clearly marked…win and you’re in. And while I know PSU beat us, I don’t know that I would call them the 12th best team in the country. (Also, hopefully by time this is published, the Indians should have a World Series championship. If not…congratulations Scott) Roll Tribe

WVa –  I have to get something off my, uh, mind. I want to have a better understanding about what the B1G football side of things is thinking. There have been so many times in the past that some of the mid-major conferences tried the Friday night thing and eventually figured out that it made things dang near impossible for them to see the high school players on those nights. Heck, after all these years, I am not sold on Thursday night football. I don’t get it! They cannot expect to make that much more money on Friday nights. They aren’t putting those teams under any spotlight but a bad one. It’s kinda sad that some states have to play high school football on Saturdays knowing they are competing for the major colleges attention. Most times, the high school will lose out which means the all-mighty dollar is more important than the kids. Case in point, I have an OHSAA game Saturday evening that kicks off an hour before Ohio State v. Nebraska. Pretty sure all of those fans would like to see both games.
