Friday poll

2010 has been an interesting year for the Pirates. They started out terribly, demoted or benched, or cut a large part of their Opening Day starting lineup, brought up a bunch of young players, and cast their lot with them. The young players have shown some impressive flashes and seem to be playing pretty good baseball right now, but there are still some big question marks (the pitching staff) for the big league club.

In the minors, several of the pitchers have made big strides forward this year, but other than that the team has suffered a lot of minor league injuries. The system is getting better, but the injuries this year unquestionably hurt.

In any case, I’ll be asking this question myself a lot over the next few months, but I’m asking you guys now as a temperature taker; are you more or less excited about the future of the Pittsburgh Pirates than you were on opening day 2010? I’m interested now because I want it based on this year’s performances, not on whether Jameson Taillon and Stetson Allie and company sign. As always, vote in the sidebar on the right, tell me why you voted the way you did in the comments.
