Yesterday was like a holiday in Cincinnati, because it was Opening Day. Adding to the fun of everything, was Ramon Hernandez hitting a walk off 3 run homer for the Reds to win. The game brings out anyone who is everyone in Cincinnati. Lots of former Reds made the trek to the Queen City to take in the action.
Today is April Fools Day. I’m not a fan. Back in 2004, I had my then girlfriend tell me she was pregnant. The news gave me a heart attack and I died. True Story. Some sites out there will throw jokes your way. Some will be funny, like whatever Hulu is doing. Some will not be, like whatever 94% of everyone else is doing. It’s a fine line to walk. I remember clearly last year one site said one of their players was going pro as the joke. That player ended up going pro. It was the worst joke ever. I would name the site since I have no fear of anyone reading this, but I’m blanking. So yeah, April Fools is hit and miss.
Pete Rose seems to be on the April Fools Day is awesome list. Even though the game was on March 31, Pete wore this ridiculous get up yesterday. The picture is by Eric.
Not only is Pete wearing that absolutely horrible looking Reds hat someone must have given him for free, but I love the Cosby sweater jacket. The sunglasses are a great touch to add to the trainwreck. I know Pete is old, but that doesn’t mean that he should dress in the dark. Or have his eyes shut when he picks out his clothes. If Pete wants to get in the Hall of Fame one day, he needs to burn all the pictures and tape of this game. People said he looked like Elton John, according to Baseball Tonight. I’m pretty sure Elton won’t be wearing anything that ridiculous tomorrow night on SNL.
Quick note before we go. March ended up being the second best month ever according to sitemeter. That’s not something that I take lightly. I appreciate all the support. I’m very thankful. It’s like the only thing that needs to happen next is for Dion Dixon to follow the blog on twitter, then the job would be over. Anyway, have a nice weekend everyone. April Fools, I hope it sucks.
