After a 2-1 finish in the ACC Tournament, fourth-ranked Florida State is getting set to host a regional and will likely earn a national seed. While FSU played just three games this week, the Seminole that shined brightest was responsible for getting the ACC Tournament off to a good start.

The Florida State Baseball Player of the Week for the week of May 19th through the 25th goes to left-handed pitcher Billy Strode. In a 7-1 win over North Carolina on Wednesday night, Strode worked a career-high six shutout innings, allowing four hits while tying a season-high with five strikeouts.

Strode earned the victory in the contest to improve to 2-1 on the year as the Seminoles snapped a 7-game losing streak in the ACC Tournament. Most college baseball fans are aware of what Luke Weaver and Mike Compton can do at the top of the rotation, but if Strode can continue to be a dependable number three, Florida State will be a very tough out in the NCAA Tournament.
