Florida State played just one game for the week of December 8th through the 14, which was a 83-63 loss to Notre Dame on Saturday. The top performer in that contest for the Seminoles was a player just returning from injury in junior guard Devon Bookert.
Bookert is the Florida State Basketball Player of the Week after scoring 11 points and collecting 8 rebounds in FSU’s loss at Notre Dame in the ACC opener. Bookert shot just 4-for-11, but led all FSU starters with 8 boards and a team-high 2 steals. Three of Bookert’s four makes came from beyond the 3-point arc.
Bookert’s 11 points tied a season-high set in the opener against Manhattan. Bookert had missed the previous five games for the Seminoles with an ankle injury.
Bookert’s return comes at an opportune time after Florida State learned that it would be without leading scorer Aaron Thomas for the remainder of the season. In four games this season, Bookert is averaging 6.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 steals.
