Rathan-Mayes Named to Cousy Award Watch List
Florida State redshirt sophomore guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes was named to the Bob Cousy Award watch list on Wednesday. The award is annually given to the nation’s best point guard. Rathan-Mayes averaged 14.9 points and 4.3 assists-per-game last season, twice tying a FSU freshman record with 35 points in one game.
In a road loss to Miami last season, Rathan-Mayes scored 30 points in less than a 5-minute span. He also became the first freshman to lead the Seminoles in scoring in more than 60 years and averaged more assists than any Seminole since Delvon Arrington during the 2001-02 season.
