After a 3-2 week that concluded by dropping two of three games to top-ranked Virginia, Florida State fell from fourth to sixth in this week’s Baseball America poll. The two-spot drop in the Baseball America poll was the biggest move for Florida State in any of the four major polls.
The National College Baseball Writers of American (NCBWA) also had the Seminoles fall to sixth. Florida State was previously fifth in that poll.
While FSU took a slight drop in the Baseball America and NCBWA polls, it actually moved up in the other two polls. In the USA Today Coaches Poll, Florida State rose a spot from fifth to fourth. That is the highest that the ‘Noles are currently ranked in any of the major polls. Florida State also moved up one spot in the Collegiate Baseball poll, going from sixth to fifth.
The majority of this week will be quiet for the 33-11 Seminoles. Florida State does not have a midweek game, but will face Minnesota at home for three beginning on Friday.
