Three Seminoles Named National Award Semifinalists
Three different Florida State players were named semifinalists for national awards this week. Junior cornerback Jalen Ramsey was named a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award, given to the nation’s best defensive player, sophomore running back Dalvin Cook was named a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award as the country’s best back and junior kicker Roberto Aguayo was named a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award as the nation’s top placekicker.

Ramsey leads the Seminoles with 8 pass break-ups this year. Ramsey also has a fumble return for a touchdown this season.

Cook has 1,037 yards rushing for the year and leads FSU with 12 total touchdowns. Cook also ranks fourth nationally with an 8.2 yards-per-carry average.

For the season, Aguayo is 13-for-17 on field goal attempts with a long of 43 yards. Aguayo won the Groza Award as a freshman in 2013 and was named a Consensus All-American as a sophomore last season.

FSU a Double-Digit Underdog at Clemson
After opening as a 12-point underdog for Saturday’s game at No. 1 Clemson, the Seminoles are currently slated as a 11-point underdog, according to Bovada. If the line holds, it would mark the first time FSU was a double-digit underdog under head coach Jimbo Fisher and the first time against an ACC opponent since the inaugural ACC Championship against Virginia Tech in 2005.
