Florida State wasted little time getting the bad taste from the end of last season out of its mouth as the Seminoles opened 2015 with a sweep of Oakland. A number of new faces contributed for Florida State as FSU outscored the Golden Grizzlies 27-6 over the 3-game series to start the year 3-0. Florida State will have a day off on Monday before playing its first midweek game of the season at Jacksonville on Tuesday.

Florida State starting pitcher Mike Compton pitched a strong six innings, allowing just two unearned runs in the first. Bryant Holtmann pitched a scoreless seventh to pick up the win for the Seminoles. Catcher Ian Yetsko had three of the eight hits for Oakland.
