Florida State put forward its most dominating effort of the season Saturday with a 96-73 win over UCF at the Donald L. Tucker Center.

The Seminoles shot 62 percent from the field in the victory and outrebounded the Knights 42-25. The 96 points scored was also a season-high for FSU, besting its previous mark of 81.

It was a career-day for junior Montay Brandon, who led four Seminoles in double-figures. Brandon finished with a career-high 23 points on 10-for-12 shooting from the floor. Brandon also grabbed a game-high 6 rebounds.

Aaron Thomas was not far behind in his second game back from injury as Thomas added 22 points. Jarquez Smith chipped in a career-high 16 points on 7-for-8 from the field while senior Kiel Turpin netted 10.

After leading the Seminoles in scoring in four straight games, freshman guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes was held scoreless in 21 minutes on Saturday.

UCF played even for about five minutes, but never led after the 15-minute mark of the first half. Guard Brandon Godwin led the Knights with 16 points and 5 rebounds while freshmen B.J. Taylor and Adonys Henriquez each finished with 14 points.

At 4-4, Florida State will look to try to get over .500 for the first time since winning the season-opener as it begins ACC play next Saturday against Notre Dame in South Bend. UCF (5-2) will visit Illinois-Chicago on Thursday.
