Florida State was handled on Sunday in its effort to complete the sweep, but the Seminoles took the season series from Miami for the sixth straight year. Florida State won a marathon game which tied the series record for the longest game Friday night before clinching the series with a rout of the Hurricanes on Saturday. Miami returned the favor on Sunday, but the Seminoles still managed to put together a 3-1 week. FSU now sits at 33-13 for the year and 16-8 in ACC play. FSU will not play a midweek game this week. The ‘Noles will return to action at home against Coastal Carolina on Friday for the first of three games.

Friday, April 24th
After Florida State and Miami traded runs in the 11th, 13th and 14th innings, the Seminoles finally went ahead for good when Ben DeLuzio scored on a wild pitch in the top of the 17th. Will Zirzow picked up the win for FSU after throwing 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. Miami rallied from an early 4-0 deficit to force extra innings, but failed to ever take the lead. Josh Delph had a career-high 5 hits for the Seminoles while Quincy Nieporte and Danny De La Calle each homered for FSU. Nieporte had three hits and drove in a pair of runs. He and De La Calle each scored twice. George Iskenderian scored three of the seven runs for Miami. The 17-inning contest tied for the longest in series history.

Saturday, April 25th
The Seminoles scored five runs in the third, seven in the fourth and three in the fifth to run away from rival Miami on Saturday and take the series. FSU catcher Danny De La Calle homered for the second straight night while D.J. Stewart was 3-for-3 with three runs scored for the Seminoles. John Sansone also scored three runs in the win while Chris Marconcini and Dylan Busby each drove in four. Quincy Nieporte scored twice and finished with three RBIs in the victory. Mike Compton allowed just two earned runs in eight innings to pick up the win for the Seminoles. Jacob Heyward was 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs for the Hurricanes in the loss.

Sunday, April 26th
Florida State was shut out for just the second time all season on Sunday as Miami avoided being swept by the Seminoles. Zack Collins, David Thompson, Willie Abreu and Garrett Kennedy all homered for the Hurricanes in the victory. Thompson and Abreu each plated three runs while George Iskenderian was a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs scored and a pair of RBIs. Enrique Sosa allowed six hits and a walk in six shutout innings to earn the win for Miami. D.J. Stewart had two of the seven FSU hits in the loss.
