It was another strong week for Florida State as the Seminoles took two from UCF before besting Wake Forest twice over three games. FSU had its 11-game winning streak snapped on Friday, but the Seminoles won the final two games to take the series against Wake Forest and improve to 17-4 on the season and 5-1 in ACC play. The 14-game homestand for Florida State has come to a close, but it was a productive one as FSU went 13-1 over the 14 games. FSU will travel to Gainesville to take on rival Florida on Tuesday.

Friday, March 13th
Wake Forest starting pitcher Matt Pirro allowed just a run on two hits in 5 2/3 innings as the Demon Deacons snapped Florida State’s 11-game winning streak. Jonathan Pryor had three hits for Wake in the victory while Will Craig and Ben Breazeale each finished with a run and a RBI. The lone run of the night for FSU came in the sixth inning on a bases loaded walk to Quincy Nieporte. Nieporte had two of the four hits for the Seminoles in the loss. Scheduled starter Mike Compton did not take the mound for Florida State.
Wake Forest 2, Florida State 12
Saturday, March 14th
John Sansone, Hank Truluck and D.J. Stewart each scored a pair of runs for Florida State as the Seminoles pounded out 16 hits to even the series. Stewart left the yard as he and Truluck each plated two in the victory. On the mound, Boomer Biegalski allowed just two runs on five hits while striking out eight in eight innings to pick up the win. Ben Breazeale homered for the Demon Deacons in the loss.

Sunday, March 15th
D.J. Stewart and Danny De La Calle combined for four hits and five RBIs as the Seminoles took the series finale. Leadoff man Taylor Walls scored three times in the victory while Bryant Holtmann picked up the win in relief to improve to 3-1 on the season. Bruce Steel and Will Craig each homered for Wake Forest in the loss while center fielder Joey Rodriguez had three hits and scored a pair of runs. Quincy Nieporte stayed hot for FSU, collecting a pair of runs batted in.
