Florida State sophomore running back Dalvin Cook was the recipient of some good news Wednesday as the Seminoles’ leading rusher from last season will have his court date moved up from September 2nd to the week of August 24th, according to Tomahawk Nation.
Cook is accused of punching a woman outside of a Tallahassee bar in late June. News broke earlier in the week from Ricky Patel, Cook’s attorney, that a new witness in the case had come forward supporting Cook’s claim of innocence.
Cook was charged in July and indefinitely suspended from the team. Cook has not practiced with the team, but reports say that he has been working out.
If Cook is cleared of charges, he could be available for FSU’s season-opener against Texas State on September 5th. Cook rushed for 1,008 yards as a freshman last season and scored 8 touchdowns.
