Fury will hope to regain top spot in the Combined standings with a victory while Indianapolis will be striving to put an end to a four-match winless streak.
While the Fury were idle on Wednesday night, the New York Cosmos played one of their two games in hand and beat Minnesota United FC, which propelled them to the top of the Combined standings. A Fury win on Saturday night could see them up top once more, depending on the Cosmos result on the road against Fort Lauderdale.
In their last meeting, the Fury beat Indy Eleven 4-2 at Lansdowne Park Stadium. That result reflects a dominance that the Fury have exhibited over this club in the span of their short histories. Both clubs began play in NASL in the Spring of 2014 and have met 5 times; the Fury have won 4 of those 5 matches.
When Indy Eleven have played at home in 2015, they have taken 41.67% of the points on offer. The Fury have taken 33% of the available points on the road in the same period, and that number is on the rise following their 1-0 victory against FC Edmonton on Sunday.
The match may be the first opportunity for Fury fans to check out new signing Uğur Albayrak. If history is any indication, head coach Marc Dos Santos will ease him into the lineup slowly. We therefore may only see him as a late-game substitute.
Ottawa’s leading scorer is Tom Heinemann with four goals, followed by Richie Ryan and Rafael Alves with three each. Indy Eleven will be looking to Dylan Mares to add to his club-leading three goals and four assists.
The Fury have gone 11 matches unbeaten, and will look to notch another feather in their cap at The Crossroads of America.
