Gage Agrees to Terms

This news didn’t exactly make me ecstatic. Unrestricted free agent receiver Justin Gage agreed to terms with the Titans on a long-term contract.
Gage’s stats aren’t very good, except for his yards per catch average of 19.9 in his rookie year. Last year was his career worst, with appearances in only eight games, no starts, and only four receptions.
Trying to find a bright side of this, two things come to mind. Bobby Wade, another Chicago Bears castoff, gave the Titans one productive season, and maybe Gage can do the same. After all, Chicago hasn’t had a good quarterback in years. Also, Gage could provide some depth at a very thin position group.
Here are Gage’s bios from the Bears and the NFLPA.
In other news, the Dallas Cowboys informed the league they would not match the Titans’ offer sheet to RFA LB Ryan Fowler. Since Fowler now seems to have the inside track for the MLB spot, that news is a little better.
