Last night was Mouphtaou Yarou’s debut in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, tonight was La Salle’s Ramon Galloway and Temple’s Khalif Wyatt turn. Tonight, Galloway and Wyatt had two very different games on the opposite end of the spectrum. Galloway played in the 7:00 pm game as his team Roger Brown’s Restaurant defeated the Portsmouth Sports Club 91-64.

For Ramon Galloway this is a type of game he needed to have to start his Portsmouth Invitational Tournament off well. In tonight’s game, he was leading the scorer in the entire game with 18 points. He also shot the ball very well, shooting 7 of 12 from the field. Galloway also showed his all around skill as he had eight rebounds, seven of which were on the defensive glass, four assists, three blocks, and three steals. But the most alarming stat of the night out of all players in tonight’s game he had nine turnovers. Ramon Galloway has to limit his turnovers in the next game to keep his draft stock rising!

On the other hand, Temple’s Khalif Wyatt who finished the season hot had a very dismal first game of the P.I.T. In his game; his team, Sales Systems, LTD loss 81-74 to Cherry Bekaert. Wyatt scored seven points in 22 minutes as he was in the starting lineup tonight. From the field, he only took seven shots and made three. He didn’t get any rebounds, had three assists, and four turnovers. This is not the type of game, we are used to seeing from Khalif Wyatt which is alarming but I think he will most definitely turn things around.

In terms of Friday, Galloway, Wyatt, and Yarou will all be in action as Wyatt’s team will be playing at 3:15 pm against the Portsmouth Sports Club. Yarou and his team will be playing at 7:00 pm against Portsmouth Partnership in the first semifinal game. Then to end the night of games, Ramon Galloway and his team will be playing at 9:00 pm against Cherry Bekaert in the second semifinal game. If Yarou and Galloway can lead their respective teams to victories tomorrow night, on Saturday night at 8:00 pm we will have an all Big Five P.I.T championship.
