Game 10: Pirates 4 Reds 3

You can probably tell from the timing of this post that I didn’t get a chance to see last night’s game live, but this morning I went back and picked through the highlights I was interested in from MLB.tv and I’ll say that even though it was another one-run game, last night’s win certainly had it’s impressive aspects.

The Pirates did manage to work Leake a bit last night, drawing five walks in his seven innings, and Andrew McCutchen and Lastings Milledge both turned in excellent at-bats against Nick Massett in the ninth, with their back-to-back singles and McCutchen’s other-wordly speed leading directly to the winning run. Other than that, Zach Duke turned in another solid Zach Duke start and the four best relievers nearly blew it, but the team’s still somehow standing at 5-5 after ten games.
