Three things to ponder
1. Home cooking
The Sacramento Kings have lost three in a row and come back from their four-game road trip licking their wounds. After colossal collapses in Memphis and Dallas, the Kings face a huge test at home against the Spurs, Pelicans and Bulls this week. Sacramento’s early season schedule is brutal, but they have faired better than expected. Can the Kings get back to their winning ways at home?
2. Ben McLemore’s development
The second-year guard is on a hot streak. After a miserable start to the season, McLemore has quietly solidified the shooting guard spot and began to pay dividends. Consistency is an issue for the 21-year-old guard, but coach Michael Malone seems to know how to get maximum production out of his young wing.
3. DeMarcus Cousins vs. Tim Duncan
Cousins has nothing but the highest regard for one of the game’s all-time greats, but that doesn’t mean that he will take it easy on the 38-year-old star. Duncan is a first ballot Hall of Fame player and one of the true gentlemen of the game. Cousins is well on his way to stardom, but could still learn a lot from a player who has done it all. This is always a great matchup. If Cousins wants his team to come away with the victory, he needs to stay out of foul trouble and continue to show growth as a player.
