Three questions to ponder

1. Will the Kings break the century mark?

Here’s a stat for you: through 10 games, the Kings have scored 100 points or more just once.  That happened in the double overtime loss to the Pacers in Indiana Kings 105-103 win over the Pistons.  Tonight’s game is a prime opportunity to score triple digits considering the Lakers’ new coaching situation.  This evening’s contest will likely be a track meet with both teams pushing the tempo, leading to more scoring opportunities and possessions.

2. Can the Kings’ contain the Lakers’ new offense?

Mike D’Antoni made his coaching debut for the forum blue and gold last night and the Lakers failed to break through the century mark.  If they get back to what made them competitve through their first six games, the Kings have the ability to slow the Lakers down.  Playing great 3-point defense will be critical in tonight’s match-up as the Lakers under D’Antoni won’t shy away from chucking from beyond the arc.

3. Which Kings point guard has a standout game?

Tonight’s game is a great opportunity for any one of the Kings’ point guards to have a big game.  With Steve Nash and Steve Blake both injured, the Lakers are short-handed at the 1 and are relying heavily on Darius Morris and Chris Duhon to pick up the slack.  If were a gambling man, I’d put my money Jimmer Fredette or Aaron Brooks having breakthrough performances.  Brooks has killed the Lakers in meaningful games in the past, while Jimmer posted his best game of the season against Los Angeles a week and a half ago.
