I mean, where do I even start here? The Pirates lost 1-0 to the Diamondbacks tonight on a broken-bat home run by Justin Upton. They struck out 13 times and walked once. They had two hits: a single by Jeff Karstens in the third inning and a one-out triple by Alex Presley in the ninth that was immediately followed by a weak Neil Walker bounce out and Andrew McCutchen adding in the baker’s dozen strikeout to end the game. What can I even add to that? There’s nothing good about it, there’s nothing funny about it. It just is and I’m tired of it at this point in September.
I mean, why am I still watching this? Honestly? I did use it to get most of a very long Moneyball post done, but really, I could’ve told you the outcome when Upton hit his homer in the sixth.
