I ran out of gas sometime in the fifth or sixth inning last night and had to go to bed well before this one ended. I saw some pretty good things, though, which is all you can really ask for in Game 155 of a hopelessly lost season. Charlie Morton made one of his better starts of late, getting some strikeouts and really not giving up many hard hit balls, even though he walked three guys in six innings. Pedro Alvarez had some bad strikeouts, but he also crushed a home run and made some really nice-looking plays at third base. Alex Presley had a couple more doubles.
After striking out a ton on Monday night, it was just nice to see the Pirates hang a bunch of hits (14) up on the board and hit a couple home runs in a homer-friendly park. I just wish games like this had happened a little more regularly over the last month.
