Andrei Vasilevskiy made 34 saves to beat the New York Islanders 4-0 and earn the third shutout of his career, the Tampa Bay Lightning’s first shutout of the season. The Bolts accomplished the first regular season sweep of the New York Islanders (3-0-0) since the 2006-07 season (4-0-0). The aggregate score of the three contests (14-2) really shows the Lightning’s dominance over the Islanders.
Steven Stamkos (two assists) and Nikita Kucherov (goal, assist) had multi-point nights. Vasilevskiy did not have much work until the third period when he was deluged with 20 shots from New York, the most given up in a period by the Lightning this season.
