It’s never good for the Nets when they play the San Antonio Spurs. The defending champions of the NBA, the Spurs have seemingly had the Nets’ number for years, ever since they won the 2003 NBA Finals against Jason Kidd and Kenyon Martin’s New Jersey Nets.
Since then, San Antonio’s Big Three of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili have developed into one of the most dominant trios in recent league memory. The Spurs, led by Gregg Popovich, have rolled through the NBA and the Nets–in New Jersey and Brooklyn–with relative ease.
Tonight, just over a week after burying the Nets down in San Antonio, the Spurs are in Brooklyn as they look to extend their eight-game winning streak to nine. Meanwhile, the Nets, coming off a win last night against the Knicks, are just trying to creep back toward .500.
Probable Lineups
SAS- Tony Parker (PG), Danny Green (SG), Kawhi Leonard (SF), Boris Diaw (PF), Tim Duncan (C)
BKN- Deron Williams (PG), Joe Johnson (SG), Bojan Bogdanovic (SF), Kevin Garnett (PF), Brook Lopez (C)
Final Thoughts
I never have any expectations for the Nets to win when they play the Spurs, and tonight is no different. I just hope they keep it close for a decent amount of the game.
