What to watch
1. Can the Kings string together two solid games in a row?
After an impressive 106-91 win over the Houston Rockets on Sunday afternoon, the Kings embark on a road trip that sees them play four games in five nights. Charlotte has had some early success, but come into tonight’s match-up riding a three-game losing streak. If the Kings want to show improvement, they need to beat teams like the Bobcats who look ripe for the picking.
2. The point guard battle
Isaiah Thomas is flying high as the Kings new starting point guard, averaging 23 points and 7.3 rebounds in his first four games in the lineup. Kemba Walker is the Bobcats leading scorer at 17.1 points. Thomas always seems to play well against players from his 2011 draft class, so this should be an interesting match-up to watch.
3. Who stops DeMarcus Cousins?
With the addition of Gay, the Kings have become a difficult team to game plan for. Thomas can beat you from 3-point land and break you down off the dribble. Gay stretches the defense with his perimeter shooting and his ability to run in the open floor. With all of this offense surrounding him, Cousins finally has a little room to work in the post.
