Steven Stamkos scored his league leading 19th goal, but it wasn’t enough as Tampa Bay lost its seventh game in their last eight tries. Defenseman Sami Salo and forward Ryan Malone also scored for the Bolts. Martin St. Louis chipped in with two assists.
The Lightning led the Canadiens 3-1 with a little over seven minutes left in the second period, but Montreal would score three unanswered goals to win the game 4-3.
Goalie Cedrick Desjardins, recalled on Tuesday, got his first start of the year.
