The Lightning ran into a brick wall in the name of Al Montoya as the Jets beat the Bolts 2-1 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum last night.
Montoya made big save after big save. He stopped all but one of the 30 shots the Bolts ripped at him. The one that got bt him was scored by Steven Stamkos on a great feed by Martin St. Louis early in the third period. For Stamkos, it was his league leading 18th goal of the season.
Ryan Malone returned after missing 13 games with an injury and dished out an assist.
The Bolts have lost six of their last seven games and have fallen to third in the Southeast Division, tied with the resurgent Washington Capitals and just two points ahead of the last place Florida Panthers.
Vincent Lecavalier extended his gol-less streak to nine games.
