Nick Young may not play any defense, but he has one of the sweetest jumpshots in the NBA. Not going to be easy for the Nets to stop him today |

For the first time this season, the Nets wil be playing an Atlantic Division foe not named the Knicks, Celtics, or Raptors. Of course, that leaves the 76ers, Brooklyn's opponent this fine weekend afternoon. As losers of three straight games, most recently a tough road deficit at Madison Square Garden against the Knicks, the Nets are not in a very good place right now and need a win badly and to stay above .500. Their opponent, the 76ers, hasn't been too hot as of late either, as they have lost six of their last seven games. However, they did beat the resurgent Atlanta Hawks on Friday in a rout, possibly suggesting that Philly is back on track, which would be bad news for the struggling Nets.
Normally, whenever a team's level of play plummets as soon as the Nets' have, changes are, and should be, made. However, we hadn't many major alterations from coach Avery Johnson until today, as Keith Bogans moves into the starting lineup at small forward, Gerald Wallace goes to power forward, and Kris Humphries goes to the bench. I'm not going to be a backseat coach and over-analyze/critique this puzzling lineup change before I know if it's going to be effective simply because I realize that Avery had to do something to shake up this recently-lackluster squad. Even if the move doesn't work, it still would have been the right thing to do.
Probable Lineups
PHI- Holiday (PG), Richardson (SG), Turner (SF), Young (PF), Allen (C)
BKN- D-Will (PG), Johnson (SG), Bogans (SF), Wallace (PF), Lopez (C)
Final Thoughts
Nets have to take advantage of as many winnable home games as they can get, which they haven't done lately. Never too late to start.
