Three things to ponder

1. King killer

Kobe Bryant has a career average of 37.3 points per game versus the Kings. The 36-year-old scored 32 points when Sacramento lost in Los Angeles on December 9, so disrupting the five-time NBA champion’s rhythm would go a long way towards slowing their attack.

2. The glass game

Despite missing Julius Randle (leg) for the season, the Lakers and their ragtag frontcourt have held their own on the boards and are one of the league’s best teams on the offensive glass. Los Angeles ripped down 14 offensive rebounds the last time the squads met, which led to fateful second chance opportunities.

3. Run to the finish

The Lakers’ defense has been a mess, and their work in transition is driving head coach Byron Scott crazy. Los Angeles is ranked 28th in the NBA in fast break points allowed (15.2 per game), so if Sacramento wants to increase the pace of their offense (supposedly the reason for firing coach Michael Malone), this is a good place to start.
