For a rare time this season, the Brooklyn Nets are feeling good about themselves, coming off a big win against the Kings at Barclays last night. The victory gave the Nets their fourth win in their last five games, albeit that all four wins came versus sub-.500 foes.
However, those good feelings aren’t likely to continue for Brooklyn as they are in Chicago to take on the Bulls in the second end of a back-to-back for both teams. On Monday, the Bulls blew a big fourth quarter lead in Indiana but held on to take down the Pacers.
The Nets have had worlds of trouble against the Bulls in recent years, having lost seven of their last nine meetings in addition to losing to them in the first round of the 2013 Eastern Conference playoffs. As Derrick Rose has returned from injury this season, Chicago has returned to being an elite team in the NBA and are even riding a seven-game winning streak.
Probable Lineups
BKN- Jarrett Jack (PG), Joe Johnson (SG), Sergey Karasev (SF), Mason Plumlee (PF), Kevin Garnett (C)
CHI- Derrick Rose (PG), Jimmy Butler (SG), Mike Dunleavy (SF), Pau Gasol (PF), Joakim Noah (C)
Final Thoughts
In their last game of 2014, the Nets would really want their second win of the season against a team with a winning record (the other was at home over the Spurs). But realistically, that may be nothing more than just a pipe dream. Still though, they do play the games for a reason.
