Having won five of their last six games, the Brooklyn Nets have a chance to reach .500 tonight for the first time since November 13th, when they were 4-4 after a road loss to the Golden State Warriors. The Nets lost three games in a row after that setback–as part of a larger five-game skid–and have had a losing record ever since.
The Nets’ last opportunity to even up their season record came on December 5th at home against the Atlanta Hawks. What happened that night? The Nets lost by 23 in one of their uglier games of the year. Tonight, Brooklyn is facing an Orlando Magic team that has struggled this season but may be hitting a stride as of late, with three win its last five games.
Brooklyn beat the Magic 104-96 back in November in the only prior matchup this season between these teams.
Probable Lineups
BKN- Jarrett Jack (PG), Joe Johnson (SG), Sergey Karasev (SF), Mason Plumlee (PF), Kevin Garnett (C)
ORL- Elfrid Payton (PG), Victor Oladipo (SG), Tobias Harris (SF), Kyle O’Quinn (PF), Nikola Vucevic (C)
Final Thoughts
The Magic’s record may not be that good but they are young, athletic and just the type of team which normally gives the Nets a lot of trouble. Also, star center Nikola Vucevic and New York native Tobias Harris have a lot of size and scoring ability, which will cause matchup nightmares for Brooklyn.
