Stephen Curry plays for the Warriors and is a ridiculously-good three-point shooter. Meanwhile, the Nets are a horrendous three-point defending team. Tonight's game might be high-scoring. |
When: 7:30 PM; Wednesday, January 8th, 2014
Where: Barclays Center; Brooklyn, NY
TV: YES Network
The Nets are still without Deron Williams (ankle) as they attempt to win their fourth game in a row tonight against the Golden State Warriors, which would be a season-high. Brooklyn, since a blowout loss on New Years' Eve to the San Antonio Spurs, has beaten Oklahoma City, Cleveland, and Atlanta so far in 2014 and hope to stay undefeated this evening.
The Warriors are riding a 10-game winning streak at the moment, having blown teams out along the way from the end of December to the start of January. The last six of those wins came away from Oracle Arena in Oakland, where Mark Jackson's–a former Nets' color guy on YES Network–team is 11-4 on the season (13-9 on the road). What does all of this mean? Golden State is on fire right now, and maybe a streaking Nets team–and bitter New York cold–can cool them off.
Probable Lineups
GSW- Stephen Curry (PG), Klay Thompson (SG), Andre Iguodala (SF), David Lee (PF), Andrew Bogut (C)
BKN- Shaun Livingston (PG), Alan Anderson (SG), Joe Johnson (SF), Paul Pierce (PF), Kevin Garnett (C)
Final Thoughts
The Warriors are a well-rounded, versatile team with tons of weapons on both defense and offense. Meanwhile, Brooklyn is a little banged-up, but also has some depth of its own. Perimeter defense, for sure, will also be of huge importance for Jason Kidd and the Nets tonight.
