Immediately following one of their better stretches of play this season (six wins in seven tries), your Brooklyn Nets have lost three games in a row against the Heat, Mavericks and Celtics. Now, they have another chance to stop the bleeding tonight before their schedule takes a difficult turn as they’re home to face the dreadful Philadelphia 76ers.
The Nets will be without Deron Williams tonight as he’s out with a fractured rib, an injury suffered on Wednesday night against Boston. That means Jarrett Jack will get the start at the point with Darius Morris playing an assumed bigger role off the bench. Will Billy King make a move to pick up another guard? Nothing has been said yet but it’s certainly possibly.
Still, there’s no better team–okay, maybe the Knicks are better–for a reeling Nets squad to face in order to stop their losing streak before it reaches an unthinkable four games. Wins against lesser teams never come easy for Brooklyn, so I doubt tonight’s game will be a smooth ride, but it’s a matchup the Nets have to show up for and take home a win from.
Probable Lineups
PHI- Michael Carter-Williams (PG), K.J. McDaniels (SG), Robert Covington (SF), Henry Sims (PF), Nerlens Noel (C)
BKN- Jarrett Jack (PG), Joe Johnson (SG), Sergey Karasev (SF), Mason Plumlee (PF), Brook Lopez (C)
Final Thoughts
The 76ers are really, really bad. On the other hand, the Nets have been incredibly bad the last few games. Which bad will be less bad tonight at Barclays?
