Where: The Palace of Auburn Hills; Auburn Hills, MI

The last time these two teams faced each other, the Pistons were on a three-game losing streak and had only five wins on the entire season. The Nets, who won 110-105, were on a three-game skid of their own but were on their way to a solid stretch of six wins in seven games.

Two days after that game, Detroit waived Josh Smith and have since more than doubled their win total after rolling off seven consecutive victories following the loss to Brooklyn. The Pistons’ winning ways ended last night at the hands of the insanely hot Atlanta Hawks, which have won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, the Nets won five of six after beating down Stan Van Gundy’s team but have lost four games in a row, capped off by a brutal defeat against the Philadelphia 76ers at Barclays yesterday. Brooklyn lost by two points. Wanna guess what the Nets’ last shot was? A fadeaway Brook Lopez three-pointer.

Probable Lineups

BKN- Jarrett Jack (PG), Bojan Bogdanovic (SG), Joe Johnson (SF), Kevin Garnett (PF), Mason Plumlee (C)

DET- Brandon Jennings (PG), Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (SG), Kyle Singler (SF), Greg Monroe (PF), Andre Drummond (C)

Final Thoughts

These teams are heading in two completely different directions right now. The Nets are on their way to blowing their current spot in the playoffs while the Pistons are racing towards the postseason and actually have some aspirations to sneak into the East’s top eight. Not a good mixture for Brooklyn.
