Highlights:
Good, Better, Best
Good: Kerby Rychel
In one of the least surprising revelations of the season, Kerby Rychel is beginning to show signs of his first round pick status. He isn’t doing anything completely outrageous, but his solid play is a very good sign. He was a point per game player down in the AHL and has shown a little bit of his playmaking abilities thus far in the NHL. He tied for the team lead in shots and was only on the ice for twelve minutes of the game, showing just how efficient he can be. I am interested to see what he could possibly do on the power play too moving forward. For Jackets fans looking towards the future make sure to keep an eye on number 21.
Better: Boone Jenner
Despite this terrible season the Jackets are having, Jenner has had a very, very good year. He had two points this evening and seemed to be all over the ice. He may have been slightly overrated before this season but has decided to shut people like me up with his strong play. He seems to fit the Blue Jackets identity to a tee as well. His three takeaways led the team and found himself on the good side of Tortorella on a night where many were in his doghouse.
Best: Joonas Korpisalo
It was a damn shame that Korpisalo couldn’t get the shutout tonight. Regardless, he was still able to stop 41 shots and end the game with a .941 sv%. Even if the season is lost, it is still intriguing to watch Forsberg and Korpisalo fight for playing time. Bobrovsky and McElhinney are injured, and while that isn’t anything to celebrate we can get a peek behind the curtain to see who the goalie of the future might be.
Tweet of the Game:

Wennberg: Right now!
Me: That's not what I as…
