The Nets have lost three games in a row–to the Raptors, Thunder, and Pacers–since their hot 10-1 start to 2014, so they desperately need a win tonight as they take on the lowly Philadelphia 76ers at home. Brooklyn is badly banged-up, as Joe Johnson (knee), Andray Blatche (hip), and Andrei Kirilenko (calf) are all out with assorted injuries that have been bothering them for awhile.
Brooklyn is coming off a tough back-to-back on Friday and Saturday that involved losses to the teams leading the Western Conference (Oklahoma City) and Eastern Conference (Indiana), at home and then on the road. The Nets were totally destroyed by Kevin Durant, Serge Ibaka, and the rest of the Thunder on Friday but stayed close with the Pacers on Saturday before fading late in the fourth quarter. They clearly need to right the ship and start a new winning streak.
The 76ers, on the other hand, are pretty healthy and will get star rookie point guard Michael Carter-Williams back this evening as he returns from a personal absence. Like its opponent, though, Philadelphia has dropped its last two games, both on a similar back-to-back, albeit the results were far from close. First, the Hawks dropped 125 on the 76ers in a going-away win a night before the Pistons scored 113 points to receive a much-needed win. To say that both the Nets and 76ers could use some positive feelings (e.g. a win).

Final Thoughts
Jason Kidd was named the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month earlier today for his team's resurgent January. February hasn't started off as well, but a win tonight would put it back on the right track.
