The Lightning lost their seventh straight road game last night as a hot Tuukka Rask and the Boston Bruins blanked them 2-0 in the makeup game originally scheduled on February 9..
The Bolts outshot and for much of the game, outplayed the Bruins but Rask was simply too good and stopped the Lightning’s 30 shots. The Finnish goaltender made a memorable glove save on a wide open Steven Stamkos and stopped two in a row from Alex Killorn.
Saturday’s finale against the Florida Panthers at the Tampa Bay Times Forum is a must watch game, despite Tampa Bay being out of the playoffs.
Martin St. Louis will be trying to win his second Art Ross Trophy as he stands two points ahead of teammate Steven Stamkos and the Penguins Sidney Crosby.
Steven Stamkos is three goals behind Alex Ovechkin in the race for the Rocket Richard Trophy.
Following the game, defenseman Radko Gudas and forward Richard Panik are headed back to Syracuse for the AHL playoffs.
