What to watch

1. Rondo vs. Thomas

This is the premiere match-up of the game.  How will Isaiah Thomas fare against one of the league’s best point guards?  Thomas does have the advantage of coming into this game in midseason form.  Rondo is still working his way back to health after missing most of last season and 39 games this year with an torn ACL.  In eight games since returning from injury, the Celtics point guard is averaging 8.4 points and 6.9 assists per game.

2. Who gets minutes at the two?

Marcus Thornton is day-to-day after taking a hard spill in Wednesday’s game against the Raptors.  He bruised both his knees and his status for tonight’s contest remains in question.  If he doesn’t get to play, Ben McLemore will likely get the start for the Kings at shooting guard.  However, will Jimmer Fredette get playing time at the two in addition to his backup minutes at point guard?

3. Does the Kings defense travel?

The Kings have played some of their best defense of the season over their last two games.  They held Chicago to 28.2 percent shooting from the field on Feb. 3, setting a new Sacramento-era record for the lowest opponent field goal percentage.  Then against the Raptors, the Kings limited Toronto to just 42.9 percent shooting in victory.  Tonight’s game is a winnable contest for the Kings considering the talent disparity between the two teams.  The Kings will need to rely on their defense to start this road trip on a high note.
