Game 50 Recap: Wizards 89, Nets 74. The One That Stunk All Around

Game 50 Recap: Wizards 89, Nets 74. The One That Stunk All Around
John Wall has really improved the Wizards since returning from injury. The Nets experienced that grim fact firsthand on Friday night

The inconsistency of the Nets struck again on Friday night in a blowout loss to the Wizards in Washington D.C. Simply put, Brooklyn couldn't hit a shot and got down by 20 points by halftime, a deficit that the Nets were able to cut roughly in half but weren't able to completely overcome. Losing steam in the fourth quarter, the Nets were too slow for the highly athletic Wizards rejuvenated by Wall's passing and scoring abilities.

Some other observations I had from the game: The Nets shot 32.9 percent from the field while Washington shot 45.0 percent. If you're looking for the key stat to this game, I think that would be it…..Joe Johnson, who scored 14 points on 6-12 shooting, was the only Net to show some kind of offensive consistency on the evening.

Looking Ahead

The Nets head home and face the Spurs at the Barclays Center later this evening. Luckily for both teams, winter storm Nemo cleared out of the NYC quickly enough to get this game played.
