Game 57: Cubs 6 Pirates 1

Not much of note going on this afternoon. Dana Eveland picked up right where he left off with the Blue Jays, which is to say that everyone that described his outing said things like, “WOW! He’s getting hit hard!” That includes the normally understated Tim Neverett on the radio broadcast. No strikeouts, six hits, and two walks over five innings just isn’t going to cut it.

The only other thing that happened during this game was that no one showed up for it. That usually happens during day games that are scheduled on less than a week’s notice, but it’s still always sad to see PNC so empty, especially after it was pretty packed for the Giants series.

Now: onwards towards 36 hours of draft discussion and Strasburg debut mania.
