Three things to ponder

1. The DeMarcus effect

The Kings are 1-2 versus the Spurs this season, but they’re undefeated when DeMarcus Cousins steps on the floor. In the November 15 win, Cousins led the charge with 25 points on 10-of-19 shooting, 10 rebounds (four offensive) and only one turnover. The All-Star center locked down Tim Duncan in the fourth quarter as well.

2. Bombs away, pt. 2

Sacramento’s 3-point struggles hit a low point in a loss to San Antonio last week, when they made merely 1-of-4 attempts. The Kings got rolling with an impressive 10-of-18 performance from downtown yesterday against the hapless Knicks, so the travelers must strive to maintain their aim over an elite Spurs perimeter defense.

3. Turnover management

In the November victory, the Kings spilled a season-low nine turnovers. In their two defeats, they surrendered a combined 31. Thanks again to the Knicks, Sacramento has some momentum coming into tonight’s contest, but they can’t afford to lose focus against a club that will undoubtedly take advantage of mistakes.
