As I wrote yesterday, the Nets are being granted a wonderful opportunity tonight as they get to play the Bobcats in the midst of a seven-game losing streak. Brooklyn, itself, is actually in a bit of skid of its own as the Nets have lost two in-a-row (to the Mavericks and Bulls). In desperate need of a win to right the proverbial ship and just gain some confidence, the Nets need to come into Charlotte and destroy a bad team like the Bobcats, simply put.
Just talent-wise, the Nets hold a very big advantage over their southern opponents, an advantage that would make a loss or poor effort in this game equally stunning and disappointing for P.J.'s squad. Charlotte has a pretty good young backcourt with Kemba Walker and Gerald Henderson, who are both dynamic scorers that can give a shaky, at times, defensive team like Brooklyn some problems. Up front is where the Bobcats are more overwhelmed as the raw Bismack Biyombo and offensive-focused Byron Mullens shouldn't be able to provide much resistance to Brook Lopez in the lane.
Believe it or not, but the talent pool gets even worse for the Bobcats on the bench, whom against the Nets' reserves like Andray Blatche and C.J. Watson should run, and score, wild. Also, now with the news that Kris Humphries will be taken out of the Nets' rotation, the bench will be a little bit more condensed in terms of personnel, meaning that we might see MarShon and Mirza Teletovic get some more playing time against the Bobcats.

Final Thoughts
If the Nets want to make a serious run in the playoffs this year, they need to make it there first. And they probably won't make it if they can't beat a team like Charlotte.
