Well, last night really sucked for the Nets. A loss to a really bad, heavily slumping team like the 76ers–even on the road–is truly unacceptable for a team that is trying to win their division against a team (the Knicks) that's well over .500. But, the past is the past and there is nothing anyone on the Nets can do to get a mulligan for last night's atrocity so the only way to make up for it is to get a big win tonight, at home, against a banged-up Hornets team that hasn't been very good this year. Also, with a four-day break coming up, it's important for the Nets to go into their mini-vacation on a good tone, instead of a pessimistic and negative one.
And Brooklyn seems to be catching New Orleans at a pretty good time. The Hornets have lost three of their last four, with the only win in that stretch coming on Sunday night at home vs the Trail Blazers. Eric Gordon, still recovering from a broken hand, isn't allowed to play on the second game of back-to-back so he missed the game, allowing Greivis Vasquez and Ryan Anderson to lead the way with 20 points each. 1st-overall pick Anthony Davis contributed a 18-point, 10-rebound double-double but was beat out in the boards department by Anderson, who had 13.
Also, in addition to tonight's game having a lot of knockdown shooters (Ryan Anderson is basically who Mirza Teletovic could be if his shot gets more accurate), interesting and talented rookies, and accomplished wing-players, it also has the intrigue of a battle of the Lopez twins–Robin and Brook–that only get to play each other twice a year and surely play with an edge when against their fellow womb inhabitant. The goofy Lopez brothers from Fresno, CA and Stanford meet up in Brooklyn. Makes sense, right?

Final Thoughts
The Hornets are scary, don't get me wrong, but they are 20 games blow .500 and should not be a team the Nets lose to. Brooklyn has to take advantage of this bit of a schedule respite at some point.
