Three things to ponder
1. Protecting the paint
Last Wednesday, Charlotte scored 50 points inside the Kings’ paint despite Al Jefferson’s off night. Cody Zeller (shoulder) practiced yesterday and should play, so Sacramento must dominate defensively inside and out.
2. Two-guard production
While Ben McLemore has been inconsistent, Nik Stauskas has recently started to contribute. Sacramento isn’t asking for another 27-point effort from McLemore, but he’ll need to pressure Gerald Henderson more effectively. The Hornet produced 17 points and 11 assists to one turnover in their first duel.
3. Four-quarter effort
The Kings’ third quarter woes struck again in their win over the Hornets. Sacramento sleepwalked out of the break and allowed Charlotte to jump on a 9-0 run. This time, four quarters of focused execution on both sides of the ball would save a lot of stress.
