Game 7: Giants 7 Pirates 3

Even if you didn’t stay awake for one pitch of last night’s game, you could probably write this recap. Brian Burres had a lot of trouble getting outs, giving up eight hits and six runs in four innings. The bullpen couldn’t hold the score at six and the offense couldn’t come up with enough hits to cut the lead, even though they had several opportunities.

On the bright side, well, John Raynor got his first big league hit and Joel Hanrahan looked decent in his season debut, despite loading the bases up on two walks and a HBP. But really, we’re cruising towards Same Old Pirates territory here, and it still seems way too early in the season for that.
