Kevin Garnett may have missed the Brooklyn Nets’ last 19 games with unending back spasms  that possibly threatened his return to the floor this season, but The Big Ticket is back now, which is all that matters. He will play in this evening’s Nets-76ers tilt and will even resume his spot as the starting center for Jason Kidd, replacing rookie Mason Plumlee, who played very well as a fill-in.

Now, the only significantly-injured Net is Brook Lopez, as Andrei Kirilenko returned from a sprained ankle a few nights ago and KG will tonight.

The Nets, coming off a blowout win over the Pistons last night in Brooklyn, take on a Philadelphia team just a week removed from their own win over Detroit that snapped their 26-game losing streak, which tied an NBA record for futility. Philly is 1-2 since that victory last Saturday but is playing with a team that looks more like a D-League squad than a NBA one, with virtual no-names such as Henry Sims, Casper Ware, James Nunnally, and Jarvis Varnado earning playing time.

Probable Lineups

BKN- Deron Williams (PG), Shaun Livingston (SG), Joe Johnson (SF), Paul Pierce (PF), Kevin Garnett (C)

PHI- Michael Carter-Williams (PG), James Anderson (SG), Hollis Thompson (SF), Thaddeus Young (PF), Henry Sims (C)

Final Thoughts

The 76ers are 9-30 at home this season, which is almost as horrid as their road record (8-29). Yeah, the Nets cannot lose this game, even though it’s the second half of a back-to-back for them.
