Game 76 Recap: Brooklyn Nets 105, Philadelphia 76ers 101. The One Where KG’s Return Spelled A Win

Last night in Philadelphia, the Brooklyn Nets eked out a win over a dreadful 76ers squad after blowing a 21-point lead earlier in the game. Helped by Kevin Garnett’s return after a 19-game absence due to back spasms, the Nets barely held on in the fourth quarter thanks to some big threes from Deron Williams and Mirza Teletovic.

KG scored 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting in his first game back.

Some other observations I had from the game: Deron was great again, scoring a game-high 19 points with nine assists on the game. His confidence on the court is through the roof and it has been showing, as he has returned to All-Star form….Mason Plumlee was also great, taking advantage of a weak Philadelphia frontcourt en route to a 16-point, seven-rebounds performance on 8-of-10 shooting.

Looking Ahead

The Nets get a relatively rare two-day break as their next game is on Tuesday in Miami against the Heat. If Brooklyn wins that game, they will have swept their season series with the defending champs 4-0.
