Defending national champion Florida State’s 2014 campaign was underway on Saturday night in Dallas. Despite plenty of push-back from Oklahoma State, the Seminoles managed to tie a school-record by winning their 17th straight game with a 37-31 victory. Saturday’s victory not only marks the 17th straight for FSU, but it was the Seminoles’ seventh straight victory on a neutral field. With Florida State improving to 5-0 in season-openers under head coach Jimbo Fisher, the Noled Out staff hands out game balls for Saturday’s victory.

Offense
Mike Ferguson & Jon Marchant’s Game Ball: Rashad Greene, WR

Florida State senior wide receiver Rashad Greene had a career-night for the Seminoles on Saturday. Greene finished with 11 receptions for a career-high 203 yards and his 50-yard touchdown reception with under four minutes to play gave Florida State a 37-24 lead. With the big night, Greene now sits just 931 yards shy of Ron Sellers’ Florida State career receiving record.

Defense
Mike Ferguson’s Game Ball: Nate Andrews, S

Florida State sophomore safety Nate Andrews didn’t exactly light up the box score, but last year’s team-leader in interceptions picked up right where he left off. On Oklahoma State’s second drive of the game, Andrews batted a pass to himself for the fifth interception of his career and returned it nine yards for a touchdown.

Jon Marchant’s Game Ball: Terrance Smith, LB
The veteran of the linebacker corps, Terrance Smith was all over the field on Saturday night. Smith finished tied for the team-lead with 12 total tackles which includes a tackle for loss. Of Smith’s 12 stops on the night, six were of the solo variety.

Special Teams
Mike Ferguson & Jon Marchant’s Game Ball: Roberto Aguayo, K

Sophomore kicker and reigning Lou Groza Award winner, Roberto Aguayo, has still just one career miss to his name on field goal attempts. In Saturday’s victory, Aguayo was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goal tries with his long for the evening coming from 37 yards out.
