- Lovie Smith was 1-5 with Chicago his first year.
- Tony Dungy Was 0-5 with the Bucs his first year, then went to 1-5 when he won his first game, over Minnesota, at home.
- The Bucs are 2 games out of first place, and have home games vs the Saints and Falcons.
- The Bucs are also one game out of the #1 draft pick!
So take all those snippets as you will, good news, bad news. The Bucs will be home and taking on the Minnesota Vikings with a very healthy squad for the first time in a long while, only Running Back Charles Simms is still one week away from clearing waivers.
More importantly, the Bucs have come off a bye week in which they should have gone over a lot of what ails them fundamentally, which is whats been the major problem, we could see a Bucs team that was competitive in three games t his year. Think about it, if the Bucs hold onto a lead in New Orleans and pull out one of those games vs Rams or Panthers, and the BUCS are in first place at 3-3.
So its too late if they play the way they’ve been playing in lopsided defeats, but not if they play up to their potential.
